Warts

A wart is a Virus commonly seen on the foot, especially in children. It can spread from one area of the foot to another, as well as person to person. Unlike a corn or callus that is uncomfortable from direct pressure, a wart is painful when pressure is applied from side to side, pinching the area. Over the counter remedies are often unsuccessful. It is very important to ensure the lesion is a wart prior to any treatment.

Treatment options may include debridement of the lesion and applications of a medication.

Surgically removing the lesion can also be performed in our office, this technique may be required when a lesion is very large or has been present for an extended period of time. A thorough examination with your Podiatrist will help to determine the best treatment option.
